Operators and group of operators wishing to place their organic products in the European Union (EU) market must certify their products according to EU Organic Farming legislation. The main Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on organic production and labelling of organic products, (EU) 2018/848, which repeals Council Regulation (EC) 834/2007, first published on 30 May 2018, entered into force on 01 January 2022.

| 17.12.2024 | In accordance with Article 46 of the basict Regulation (EU) 2018/848 of the European Parliament and of the Council, the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/3121 of the European Commission, amending Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1378 on the recognition of certain control bodies as having the authority to carry out controls and issue organic certificates in third countries for the purpose of importing organic products into the European Union, was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 17 December 2024. According to this regulation, our organization, Başak Ekolojik Ürünler Kontrol ve Sertifikasyon Hizmetleri Tic. Ltd. Şti., has the authority to carry out controls and issue certifications; Türkiye, Kyrgyzstan and the United Arab Emirates have approved the following products: Unprocessed Plants and Plant Products (including seeds and other production materials) (A), Processed Agricultural Products for Food Use (D), including Aquatic Products, and Other Products listed in Annex 1 of EU Regulation 2018/848, Yeasts for Food or Feed (G), and have been authorized to do control and certification procedures according to (EU)2018/848 from 20.12.2024.
